The "How to Become a 5-Star Graduate" program encourages students to excel in five areas: academic performance, collaboration with businesses, development of transversal skills, distance learning or mobility, and social engagement. Each area is symbolized by a star and assessed by a mixed jury at the end of the course, providing students with the opportunity to stand out and prepare effectively for their future careers.

Student engagement in their academic journey is a key indicator of an academic institution's vitality. Indeed, the success of a university is measured not only by academic performance but also by its ability to develop independent, committed, and humanitarian citizens.
In this perspective, the University of Algiers 1 has embarked on this innovative approach, drawing inspiration from the pedagogical practices of European and American institutions while adapting them to our cultural context. This initiative, titled "How to Become a 5-Star Graduate," offers students a structured method in five steps, each assessed and symbolized by a star.
The 5 steps regarding L and M are briefly described below:
First Star: Academic Performance (being ranked among the top students).
Second Star: Engagement with Businesses (conducting practical case studies within companies, focusing on certain aspects of the student’s training).
Third Star: Development of Professional and Transversal Skills (foreign languages, IT tools, quality tools, management, sports and cultural activities, problem-solving games, organizing debates on societal themes, etc.).
Fourth Star: Pursuing Distance Learning or Mobility Credits (MOOCs or any other online means, Erasmus program, academic mobility primarily to the southern part of the country).
Fifth Star: Social Involvement and Concern (charitable actions, such as hospital visits and helping the sick, academic collaboration with accredited organizations in Algeria, student advisor, student delegate to various pedagogical and scientific councils of the department at the university).
